our spaces
Let's take a closer look at our beautiful spaces at Antrobus House.
the edmund hall
Named after Lieutenant Edmund Antrobus, only son of Lady Florence Antrobus and in whose memory Antrobus House is built.
The attractive Edmund Hall, with its high ceiling, rich wood-panelled walls, sumptuous drapes, huge windows, parquet floor and twinkling chandeliers is where your wedding breakfast takes place. Located on the ground floor and fully accessible, it is beautifully decorated in a neutral palette and is a versatile space you can make your own. With a purpose-built stage for live music or a DJ, and with two sets of double doors leading to both the front lawn and the rear terrace, this room is ideal for celebrating during the day and dancing into the evening.
Capacity : up to 100 guests for a seated meal and up to 150 guests for a more relaxed set up / evening reception.
the lady florence room
Named after Lady Florence Antrobus - benefactress of Antrobus House
The charming light-filled Lady Florence Room on the first floor, is where our ceremonies usually take place - it is only accessible via a flight of stairs. Once you've tied the knot, the Lady Florence Room can be transformed into anything you want it to be: a chillout lounge, playroom for the kids, or maybe a playroom for the "big kids" with the addition of fun casinos and photobooths.
Capacity : up to 100 guests
the verey room
Named after Lieutenant Colonel Henry Verey, who oversaw the construction of Antrobus House from 1923-1925.
The Verey Room can be found on the first floor, a few short steps from the Lady Florence Room. It is solely used for Brides or Grooms who wish to get ready on site. With windows on three sides, this space is flooded with natural light, making it a makeup artist's dream! We invite you to bring your own bubbly and perhaps some delicious pastries to enjoy for breakie, whilst your hair and makeup team work their magic.
the front lawn
The impressive facade of Antrobus House provides the most beautiful backdrop to our attractive double-lawned garden and it's here where your photographer will work their magic and capture the best shots! It is also a perfect spot for 'al fresco' drinks receptions, garden games, chatter and laughter, and where your guests will love to gather together, catch up and have fun! The front lawn can also accommodate street food trucks, hogroasts, BBQs, ice cream trikes and is large enough for a bouncy castle and even a small marquee. The addition of some gentle live background music makes this a really special outdoor space.
the edmund terrace
One of our favourite spots, the Edmund Terrace can be found at the rear of Antrobus House overlooking the bowling green. A shaded spot where on hot sunny days, guests can take a seat at one of our pretty bistro tables, enjoy the surroundings and maybe even catch a game of bowls, which from previous experience, we know guests love! With double doors opening into the Edmund Hall, the terrace is a tiny hop from the dancefloor... and the bar!
If you are planning a more relaxed wedding and are considering street-food style catering, this works really well next to the Edmund Terrace, if the front lawn is not an option due to, dare we say it, "inclement" weather. Don't worry, there is always a "Plan B" at Antrobus House, if it should rain.
